North Fork Flathead - Polebridge Cross Country Skiing

In the Polebridge area along the North Fork of the Flathead River, there are several ungroomed cross country skiing options starting from the Polebridge Ranger Station. First, there is the easy 4 mile round trip trek north up Park Road 7 to Big Praire overlooking the North Fork. Second, there is the 6 mile round trip trek south down Park Road 7 to Lone Pine Praire through the 1988 burn. Finally, there is the challenging 12 mile round trip trek northeast to Bowman Lake.

Overall, North Fork Flathead - Polebridge is the 24th most popular cross country ski area of all 37 Nordic ski destinations in Montana.
