North of Ohiopyle, the 5,000 acre Bear Run Nature Reserve has 20 miles trails open to hiking, biking and cross country skiing through dense oak and hemlock forests.

The trailhead is located 3.5 miles north of Ohiopyle on SR381.

Overall, Bear Run Nature Reserve is the 11th most popular cross country ski area of all 35 Nordic ski destinations in Pennsylvania.
