Near Philipsburg, the 3,400 acre Black Moshannon State Park has a 12 mile trail system. In addition, the state park is surrounded by the 43,000 acre Moshannon State Forest.

The cross country ski trailhead is located 1 mile north of SR504 on Black Moshannon Road.

Overall, Black Moshannon State Park is the 16th most popular cross country ski area of all 35 Nordic ski destinations in Pennsylvania.
