Northwest of Ottowa in the Abitibi region, the Val d'Or area has 10 cross country ski trails totaling 50km maintained by Club de ski de fond de Val-d’Or.

Overall, Val-d’Or is the 29th most popular cross country ski area of all 35 Nordic ski destinations in Quebec. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Val-d’Or including Gatineau Provincial Park, Mont Sainte-Marie, Ferme-Neuve, Edelweiss Valley, Murphys Point Provincial Park and MontebelloÉvain.
