South of Calgary and west of Coleman near Blairmore, the Allison - Chinook Cross Country Ski Area has seven trails totaling 31km groomed by the Crowsnest Pass Cross-Country Ski Association. The trail are on closed snow-covered forest roads. Located near Chinook Lake, Allison-Chinook has trails for novice and experienced skiers. The over 300 hectares of land in the Allison-Chinook Forest Land Use Zone provides for over 31 kilometers of track-set trails as well as additional backcountry trails to enjoy. The pristine snow and majestic mountains of the Crowsnest Pass will delight skiers be they cross-country, backcountry or alpine enthusiasts. Trails are groomed and track set from December 1 to March 31 every year. During the season the trails and are always open and groomed on a weekly basis.

The trailhead is located 3km west of Coleman to the Chinook Lake Road (Atlas Road), then 3km north to the trailhead parking.

Overall, Chinook-Allison Cross Country Trail System is the 21st most popular cross country ski area of all 37 Nordic ski destinations in Alberta.
