East of Cedar City and west of Bryce, the Red Canyon area is a scenic red rock canyon with ponderosa pine and sage forests laced with a nice trail network.
In the winter, the multi-purpose paved Red Canyon Scenic Trail is very popular with cross-country skiers. It runs parallel to SR12 throughout the canyon.
