Bethpage State Park Cross Country Skiing

The 12th most popular XC Ski in New York.

East of NYC near Farmingdale, the 1,500 acre Bethpage State Park has 12 miles of trails open to hikers, bikers and cross-country skiers. While known primarily for its golf courses, Bethpage State Park has a surprising network of trails and forest roads within and connecting to the park (note, few routes are marked). The routes are usually hardpacked and gently roll through maple and oak woodlands.

The Nassau-Suffolk Greenbelt Trail connects with the Bethpage State Park.

The park is located 40 miles east of New York City. To reach the park, head east on the Long Island Expressway US495 to Exit 44S. Follow Seaford/Oyster Bay Expressway (SR135) south to the Powell Avenue Exit. Head east on Powell Avenue into the park.

There is a small entrance fee (currently $4.00).

Overall, Bethpage State Park is the 12th most popular cross country ski area of all 61 Nordic ski destinations in New York.
