Escarpment Trail Cross Country Skiing

The 24th most popular XC Ski in New York.

West of Albany and Voorheesville, the John Boyd Thacher State Park has 15 miles of trails open to hiking, biking, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. The park is situated along the Helderberg Escarpment with panoramas of the Hudson-Mohawk Valleys and the Adirondak Mountains.

To reach the trailhead from Voorheesville, head west on New Salem Road (SR85A) to SR157. Head north on SR157 to the park office on the right.

The Escarpment Trail trail is open only to hiking and skiing.

Overall, Escarpment Trail is the 24th most popular cross country ski area of all 61 Nordic ski destinations in New York.
