Stokes State Forest Cross Country Skiing

The 6th most popular XC Ski in New Jersey.

North of Newark and Newton in Sussex County, the 15,700 Stokes State Forest has 27 miles of cross country skiing trails.

To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead from Branchville, head north on SR206 for 4 miles. Turn right heading northeast on Coursen Road. There are several places to park to access trails.

Overall, Stokes State Forest is the 6th most popular cross country ski area of all 14 Nordic ski destinations in New Jersey.
