Lake City Cross Country Skiing

The 44th most popular XC Ski in Colorado.

Southwest of Gunnison, the Lake City has miles of cross country skiing trails surrounding this old mining community. The trails are on a combination of National Forest and BLM lands. This area is very popular with snowmobiliers, so expect to share most trails.

To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead from Gunnison, head west on US50 for 9 miles. Turn south on SR149 for 45 miles to Lake City.

Overall, Lake City is the 44th most popular cross country ski area of all 58 Nordic ski destinations in Colorado.
