Carpenter Road Ski Trails

The 51st most popular cross country ski area in New York.

North of Utica and south of Lowville, the Carpenter Road Ski Trails are a 8 mile network of 3 loops on the eastern slope of the Tug Hill Plateau winding through wooded terrain. The trails connect with Snow Ridge Cross Country Ski Trails for an additional 10km.

To reach the trailhead from Lowville, head south on SR26 for about 10 miles or so to Carpenter Road. Turn west on Carpenter Road and continue up to the top of the hill where there is a parking area.

Overall, Carpenter Road Ski Trails is the 51st most popular cross country ski area of all 61 Nordic ski destinations in New York.
