Laurentian Trail Cross Country Skiing

The 19th most popular XC Ski in Minnesota.

Northeast of Virginia and Biwabik in the Superior National Forest, the 5.2 mile Laurentian Trail is a rolling backcountry trail located near the Silver Trail in the Giants Ridge Recreation Area. The route flows through rich aspen and pine forests.

To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead from Biwabik, head east on SR135 for 1.5 miles. Proceed north on CR138 for three miles into the GRRA on the left.

Overall, Laurentian Trail is the 19th most popular cross country ski area of all 39 Nordic ski destinations in Minnesota.
