Silver Trail Cross Country Skiing

The 22nd most popular XC Ski in Minnesota.

Northeast of Virginia and Biwabik in the Superior National Forest, the 6.2 mile Silver Trail is a challenging backcountry trail located in the Giants Ridge Recreation Area. The Silver Trail is used for Olympic cross-country ski qualifications in the winter.

To reach the trailhead from Biwabik, head east on SR135 for 1.5 miles. Proceed north on CR138 for three miles into the GRRA on the left.

Overall, Silver Trail is the 22nd most popular cross country ski area of all 39 Nordic ski destinations in Minnesota.
