Valley Spur Cross-Country Ski Trail

The 36th most popular cross country ski area in Michigan.

On the Upper Peninsula south of Munising in the Hiawatha National Forest, the Valley Spur Cross-Country Ski Trail System is a 67km network of nordic trails through northern hardwood forest and meadows.

To reach the trailhead from Munising, head east on M-28. Turn right heading south on M-94 to the Valley Spur Day Lodge.

The twelve trails are well-marked with black letters on blue trail markers. Location maps are posted at trail intersections.

Overall, Valley Spur Cross-Country Ski Trail is the 36th most popular cross country ski area of all 47 Nordic ski destinations in Michigan. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Valley Spur Cross-Country Ski Trail including Brunos Run Trail, Grand Marais Cross-Country Ski Trail, Munising Cross-Country Ski Trail, North Country Trail and Mckeever Hills Cross Country Ski Trail.
