Northwest of Salmon in the Salmon-Challis National Forest, the Williams Creek Summit Cross Country Ski Trails are a 15 mile network of trails.

To reach the Meadow Trailhead from the intersection of SR 28 and US 93 in Salmon, go south on US 93 for 5.25 miles. Take a right (west) on Williams Creek Road (NFD 021) and travel 12.5 miles to the Meadow Trailhead.

The Wapiti Meadows Loop #242 is a 1.5 mile beginner loop blazed with green diamonds.

The Meadow Trail #222 is a 2.5 mile beginner/intermediate route through lodgepole and Douglas fir forest.

The Buckhorn Trail #224 is a 1.8 mile intermediate route.

The Aspen Loop Trail #223 is a 1.9 mile beginner/intermediate route through rolling aspen and conifer forest.

Overall, Williams Creek Summit Trails is the 39th most popular cross country ski area of all 43 Nordic ski destinations in Idaho. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Williams Creek Summit Trails including Chief Joseph Pass and Salmon-Challis National Forest.
