Amole Trail System Cross Country Skiing

The 12th most popular XC Ski in New Mexico.

The Amole Trail System is a 10+ mile network of groomed cross country ski trails.

The trailhead is located at the junction of SR518 and Amole Canyon Road. Forest Road 703.

To reach the trailhead from Taos, follow State Highway 518 approximately 15 miles south of the junction of State Highway 68 and 518, approximately 2 miles past the U.S. Hill Vista (on the left). Parking is available on the left side (east) of the highway (Forest Road 703 entrance).



From the Camino Real Ranger Station take State Highway 75 north through Vadito for 5 miles to the junction of Sate Highway 518 and proceed 1.5 miles to the Amole Canyon Road, Forest Road 703. Parking lot on the right side of the highway.

Overall, Amole Trail System is the 12th most popular cross country ski area of all 12 Nordic ski destinations in New Mexico.
