Luster Heights Unit Winter Trails Cross Country Skiing

Near Marquette in northwest Iowa, the 8,500 acre Yellow River State Forest has miles of cross-country trails in the Luster Heights Unit. The trail run through through oak-hickory forest rife with wild turkeys, deer, Coopers hawks and woodchucks.
To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead from Marquette, on the Mississippi, drive 12 miles north on SR 76, turn right on CR B25, and drive four miles to forest headquarters.
Overall, Luster Heights Unit Winter Trails is the 15th most popular cross country ski area of all 15 Nordic ski destinations in Iowa.
