Sturgeon River Cross Country Skiing

The 28th most popular XC Ski in Minnesota.

North of Chisholm in the Superior National Forest, the Sturgeon River trail system has 30km of cross-country ski trails. The routes pass through mature silver maples.

The southern trailhead is located at the intersection of FS279 and SR73, about 9 miles north of Chisholm.

Overall, Sturgeon River is the 28th most popular cross country ski area of all 39 Nordic ski destinations in Minnesota.
