South of Tahoe City on the west shore of Lake Tahoe, the Blackwood Canyon Sno-Park provides access to miles of snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
To reach the sno-park from Tahoe City, head south on US89 for 3 miles. It is on the west side of the highway across from Kaspian Picnic Area.
Overall, Blackwood Canyon Sno-Park is the 23rd most popular cross country ski area of all 36 Nordic ski destinations in California. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Blackwood Canyon Sno-Park including Royal Gorge XC, Kirkwood Cross Country Center, Northstar Cross Country Center, Nordic Center At Squaw Valley, Cabin Creek Cross Country Ski Area and Sugar Pine Point State Park.
