Southwest of Innsbruck and west of Ischgl, there are numerous cross country ski routes through the Paznaun valley for beginner and advanced skiers. The main 5km route is from Ischgl west to Galtur. From Galtur, there are several routes exploring alpine valleys including: the 5km route south to Jamtal; the 4.5km route northwest to Zeinis; or the 8km route to Bielerhohe.

For apres-ski, make sure to check out the Schatzi Bar. For nightlife, make sure to hit the Trofana Arena in the Trofana Royal Hotel.

Note: there is no train service to Ishgl. There is a convenient ski-bus and a Post-bus to the Landeck train staion.

Overall, Ischgl is the 12th most popular cross country ski area of all 16 Nordic ski destinations in Austria.
