Alligator Hill Trail Cross Country Skiing

The 49th most popular XC Ski in Michigan.

Northeast of Traverse City and southwest of Glen Arbor in the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore, the Alligator Hill Trail is a network of looping trails totaling 9 miles. This rolling terrain passes through maple/beech forest and pine plantations. The trails are shared by hikers and horseback riders in the summer, and used by nordic skiers in the winter.

To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead from Glen Arbor, head west on SR22. At the junction with SR109 where SR22 turns left heading south, continue straight heading west on SR109. Turn left heading south on Stocking Road. Look for trailhead parking on left side of road.

Overall, Alligator Hill Trail is the 49th most popular cross country ski area of all 49 Nordic ski destinations in Michigan.
