Chassell Trail Cross Country Skiing

The 46th most popular XC Ski in Michigan.

South of Houghton in Chassell on the Keweenaw Peninsula, the Chassell Trail is a 10km loop groomed for classical Nordic skiing. The route has 2 loops that meander through meadows and rolling forests.

To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead from Houghton, head south on US41 for 7 miles. Turn right on 2nd Street for a half block and then turn right into the Heritage Center parking lot.

Overall, Chassell Trail is the 46th most popular cross country ski area of all 49 Nordic ski destinations in Michigan.
