Tenderfoot Trail Cross Country Skiing

South of John Day in the Malheur National Forest, the Tenderfoot Trail is a 3.2 mile route open to cross-country skiing.

To reach the trailhead form John Day, head south on SR395 for 12 miles to the Starr Ridge Snow Park. Turn right on FS333 to the trailhead.

Overall, Tenderfoot Trail is the 23rd most popular cross country ski area of all 24 Nordic ski destinations in Oregon. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Tenderfoot Trail including Shoeshoe Trail, Starr Trail, Eagle Trail and Flagtail Trail.
