North of Golden, the Icefall Traverse is a 10 mile backcountry ski route linking the Lyell Hut, Mons Hut and the Icefall Lodge. Along the Icefall Traverse, there are five summits above 11,000 feet, and a 7,600 foot vertical descent off Ernest Peak. You can expect to encounter plenty of glades, glaciers and couloirs.

Overall, Icefall Traverse is the 56th most popular cross country ski area of all 56 Nordic ski destinations in British Columbia. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Icefall Traverse including Rogers Pass Ski Touring and Dawn Mountain Trail.
