Southeast of Steamboat Springs, the Lake Catamount Touring Center at Catamount Ranch has 30km of cross country skiing trails. The trail system is within a private development and is known for its rolling routes with wide open views.

To reach the cross country skiing at Lake Catamount Touring Center from Steamboat, head east on US40

for 2.7 miles past Pine Grove Road to the intersection of SR131. Head south on SR131 for 4.5 miles. Turn left on RCR18 for 1.2 miles until you see the second sign for Waters Edge Trail on your left. Turn in and park on the left. Walk down to the Nordic Center on the Edge of the lake.

Overall, Lake Catamount Touring Center is the 57th most popular cross country ski area of all 58 Nordic ski destinations in Colorado.
