Falls Creek Cross Country Ski Area

The 3rd most popular cross country ski area in Australia.

Northeast of Melbourne and south of Albury near the middle of the Australian Alps, the Falls Creek area of the Bogong High Plains is a fabulously scenic mecca for cross-country skiing amongst eucalyptus groves. Located adjacent to the ski village of Falls Creek, the undulating plains and snow gum woodlands of the Bogong High Plains are Australias premier cross country destination with 40 km - 60 km groomed daily, as well as access to endless back country skiing in the Alpine National Park. Falls Creek is also the home of the southern hemispheres only Worldloppet event, the Kangaroo Hoppet, held each year on the last Saturday in August.

Overall, Falls Creek Cross Country Ski Area is the 3rd most popular cross country ski area of all 10 Nordic ski destinations in Australia.
