Cradle Mountain Cross Country Skiing

The 9th most popular XC Ski in Australia.

Near Devonport, the Lake St. Clair National Park on the northwest coast has 130 km of nordic ski touring. Craddle Mountain has consistent snow cover during the winter, as does Mt. Rufres and the Duncan Range. The views are spectacular and the backcountry skiing is extreme.

Editors Note: While one report has consistent snow, other reports indicate that this region gets unreliable snow cover -- wet snow for a week at a time.

Overall, Cradle Mountain is the 9th most popular cross country ski area of all 10 Nordic ski destinations in Australia.
