Shadow Lake Trails Cross Country Skiing

Roughly 20 km north of Banff starting from the Red Earth Creek cross country ski parking area, the Shadow Lake Trail runs 14 km up to Shadow Lake. Meader around the pristine lake or venture further to Ball Pass or Haiduk Lake. Ascend Gibbon Pass for the 360 degree vista or circle over Whistling Pass to Egypt Lake and Pharoah Creek.

Overall, Shadow Lake Trails is the 14th most popular cross country ski area of all 37 Nordic ski destinations in Alberta. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Shadow Lake Trails including Skoki Trails, Telemark Loop, Fairview Loop, Sundance Canyon Trail, Pipestone / Whitehorn Loops and Cascade Trail.
