Canmore Nordic Center

The MOST popular cross country ski area in Alberta.

Located west of Calgary, the CNC is the primary activity center for exploring the surrounding 1600 square miles multi-use recreation area. In this alpine area, cross-country skiers can expect to find rolling hills, sculpted peaks, sparkling lakes and bubbling streams, along with moose and mountain goats. CNC maintains 70 km of cross country ski track with 12 km of snowmaking all above 4,500. Some of the choice trails include: Goat Creek Trail (near Mt. Rundle & Banff), Banff Trail (through Bow Valley), Stoney Trail (along western shore of Barrier Lake), Praire View/Creek Trail (10 mile loop near Barrier Lake), Baldy Mountain Trail, and Jumpingpound Ridge Trail (climb up Cox Hill east of Baldy Moutain).

Overall, Canmore Nordic Center is the 1st most popular cross country ski area of all 37 Nordic ski destinations in Alberta.
