Ice River Trail Cross Country Skiing

Between Golden and Field off the TransCanada Highway, the Ice River Trail runs 17.5 km along the Beaverfoot River and up the lower sections of the Ice River into the canyon under the Hanbury Glacier. There are great views of Chancellor Peak and Mount Goodsir. The trail ends near the warden cabin. The cross country ski trailhead is at the Hoodoo Creek Campground.

Overall, Ice River Trail is the 23rd most popular cross country ski area of all 56 Nordic ski destinations in British Columbia. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Ice River Trail including Emerald Lake Loop Trails, Lake O'Hara Trail, Yoho Valley, Amiskwi Trail, Ottertail Trail and Wapta Falls.
