Ottertail Trail Cross Country Skiing

The 18th most popular XC Ski in British Columbia.

East of Golden and 7.8 km west of Field off the TransCanada Highway, the Ottertail Trail leads cross country skiers 14 km up the Ottertail River Valley to the junction with McArthur Creek and Goodsir Creek near Otter Tail Falls. From the junction, skiers can either head up Goodsir Creek another 6 km to the base of Mount Goodsir or attempt the difficlut ascent over McArthur Pass to Lake Ohara (11.8 km).

Overall, Ottertail Trail is the 18th most popular cross country ski area of all 56 Nordic ski destinations in British Columbia. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Ottertail Trail including Emerald Lake Loop Trails, Lake O'Hara Trail, Yoho Valley, Amiskwi Trail, Wapta Falls and Ice River Trail.
