South of Uxbridge, the 4,000 acre Durham Forest has 25 km of cross country skiing trails through the rolling hills of Oak Ridges Moraine.

To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead, follow Route 401east to Brock Road in Pickering. Proceed north on Brock Road to Durham Road 21 at Coppins Corners. Head west on Durham Road 21 for 5 km to Sideline #4. Go south on Sideline #4 for 1 km and the trailhead parking is on the left.

Overall, Durham Forest is the 1st most popular cross country ski area of all 44 Nordic ski destinations in Ontario. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Durham Forest including Northumberland County Forest, Mansfield Outdoor Centre, Pinery Provincial Park, Bruce Trail, Ganaraska Forest and Dundas Valley Conservation Area.
