North of Cobourg, the 6600 acre Northumberland Forest has 40 km of multi-use trails. To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead from Route 401, follow Route 45 for 14 km northeast to Beagle Club Road. Proceed north on Beagle Club Road for 1 km to parking area on left.

Overall, Northumberland County Forest is the 2nd most popular cross country ski area of all 49 Nordic ski destinations in Ontario. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Northumberland County Forest including Durham Forest, Ganaraska Forest, Mansfield Outdoor Centre, Pinery Provincial Park, Bruce Trail and Dundas Valley Conservation Area.
