Northeast of Quebec City in St-Ferreol-les-neiges, the huge Parc du Mont-Sainte-Anne area has a groomed trail network totaling 208km. There are about 125km groomed skate skiing. Many consider this to be the best cross country ski center in Quebec.
The Mont Ste-Anne area is also a great base for exploring more than 235 km of wilderness backcountry trails. Prime backcountry routes include La Basse Amazon (5km) and La Liberiste (12km).
To reach Mont Ste-Anne from Quebec City, follow Highway 440 east for 10km. After it changes to Highway 138, continue another 25km. Then follow Highway 360 for 3km into the park.
Overall, Mont Sainte-Anne is the 7th most popular cross country ski area of all 35 Nordic ski destinations in Quebec. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Mont Sainte-Anne including Camp Mercier, Mont Orignal, Mont Grand-Fonds Regional Park and Grands Jardins Park.
