Red Cone Trail Cross Country Skiing

The 20th most popular XC Ski in California.

Southwest of Mammoth Lakes, the ungroomed 8 km (round-trip) Red Cone Trail through the Ansel Adams Wilderness rolls over Mammoth Pass and drops through old growth Red Fir. The turn around point is at Red Cones with a vista over the San Joaquin River.

The trail starts on the east side of the Tammark Cross Country Ski Center via the south side of Lake Mary Road.

Overall, Red Cone Trail is the 20th most popular cross country ski area of all 38 Nordic ski destinations in California.
