At the Top of the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway cross-country ski through majestic evergreens. For the beginner a machine-packed and marked trail is available. For the experienced winter enthusiast the State Wilderness offers more challenging terrain.

To reach the trailhead from the intersection of Alejo Road and SR 111 in Palm Springs, go north on SR 111 for 2.2 miles. Turn onto Tramway Road and go west/southwest for 3.7 miles to the Tramway parking. Ride the Tramway up 2.5 miles to the trails.

Overall, Palm Springs Aerial Tramway-XC is the 14th most popular cross country ski area of all 38 Nordic ski destinations in California.
