Tigiwon Trail Cross Country Skiing

South of Minturn, the 8.5 mile one-way Tigiwon Trail is a gentle backcountry ski up past Tigiwon Lodge to NFS Halfmoon Campground and vistas over the Gore Range and Vails Back Bowls. To reach the trailhead from Minturn, head south on US24 for 2 miles. Turn right heading west onto Tigiwon Road and continue for 0.5 miles to parking area. The trail follows Tigiwon Road from the parking area at 8,000, past the Tigiwon Lodge at 6 miles and up to the campground at 10,400 .

Overall, Tigiwon Trail is the 29th most popular cross country ski area of all 58 Nordic ski destinations in Colorado. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Tigiwon Trail including Shrine Pass Trail, Beaver Creek, Tennessee Pass Mitchell Loop, New York Mountain / Yeoman Park, Vail Golden Peak Nordic and Vail Nordic Center.
