Northeast of Moscow and Potlach in the Clearwater National Forest, the area between the NFS Giant White Pine campground and the Palouse Divide Lodge has 29km of groomed trails. The maintained nordic tracks include the Three Tree Butte Trail #26 (3.5 mi.), Old Sampson Trail #22 (4 mi.), and FS377. Additional backcountry ski touring is available on the East Dennis Trail #223 (3.5 mi.) and the East Fork Meadow Creek Trail #224 (5.5 mi.) which winds through old growth.

To reach the trailhead from Moscow, follow US95 north to SR6 through Potlach and Harvard for 21 miles. Park on the right at FS377 (Dennis Mountain Rd.).

Use parking areas near the campgroud or the North-South Ski Bowl. Idaho Park-n-Ski stickers are required.

Overall, Palouse Divide is the 14th most popular cross country ski area of all 41 Nordic ski destinations in Idaho. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Palouse Divide including Elk River Nordic Trails and Sand Mountain.
