Canfield Mountain Trail System Cross Country Skiing

The 10th most popular XC Ski in Idaho.

Northeast of Coeur d Alene and south of Hayden Lake in the Panhandle National Forest, the Canfield Mountain Trail System is a 25 mile cross country ski route that designed so that the entire trail network can be accessed without traveling on roads that are open to traffic. The trails designated by numbers generally run north to south and are generally steeper. The trails designated by letters generally run east to west and are generally milder

To reach the cross country skiing at the Nettleton Gulch Trailhead Parking area from Couer d Alene, follow US90 to Exit 14 (15th Street). Head north on 15th Street for 1.1 miles. Turn right heading east on Nettleton Gulch Road for 2.2 miles to the parking area.

Note: mountain bikers should yield to all other trail users, and hikers should yield to trail bikers.

Overall, Canfield Mountain Trail System is the 10th most popular cross country ski area of all 43 Nordic ski destinations in Idaho.
