Ponderosa Trails Cross Country Skiing

Near McCall in the Payette National Forest, the Ponderosa State Park maintains 11 miles of groomed cross country ski trails adjacent to the Payette National Forest. There are 1.5 miles of lighted trails for night skiing.
The PSP is located on the opposite side of Payette Lake from McCall. South of McCall around Cascade, the Wapiti Meadow Ranch has 90 km of groomed trails and access to plenty backcountry.
To reach the Visitor Center trailhead from the intersection of SR 55 and Park St. in McCall, go east on Park St. for .15 mile. Continue east on Thompson Ave. for .2 mile. Go north on Davis Ave. Follow for about 1 mile, road turns into Miles Standish Rd. Go about .4 mile more to park entrance on left. Go to Visitor Center to park.
Overall, Ponderosa Trails is the 32nd most popular cross country ski area of all 43 Nordic ski destinations in Idaho. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Ponderosa Trails including Brundage Mountain Ski Area, Little Ski Hill and Jug Mountain Ranch XC.
