Bear Creek/Palisades Cross Country Skiing

Located in the Palisades Ranger District, the Bear Creek trail provides access to a network of well-maintained cross country ski trails. A variety of cross country ski loops are possible through various trail connections. One can easily connect to the extensive trail network in the adjacent Fall Creek drainage. Elevation gains are approx 2500 feet to the ridgetops. Excellent ridge skiing is found on Red Ridge and Deadhorse Ridge.

Overall, Bear Creek/Palisades is the 15th most popular cross country ski area of all 43 Nordic ski destinations in Idaho. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Bear Creek/Palisades including Fall Creek / Swan Valley, Harriman State Park, Bear Gulch / Mesa Falls and Trail Canyon Trail.
