Baxter State Park Cross Country Skiing

The 8th most popular XC Ski in Maine.

Located in northcentral Maine near Millinocket, the 200,000 acre Baxter State Park is a rugged and remote section of the state. While attacking the Pogy Notch Trail (23 mi.) or the Wassataquoich Lake Trail, keep a keen eye out for moose and black bear. To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead, follow US95 north to Exit 58. Continue north on SR11 into Patten. Turn left on SR159 heading west into the park.

Overall, Baxter State Park is the 8th most popular cross country ski area of all 13 Nordic ski destinations in Maine.
