Huron-Manistee National Forest Cross Country Skiing

The 6th most popular XC Ski in Michigan.

The 120,000 acre HMNF located around Cadillac has more that 600 miles of backcountry dirt roads and trails. The nearby Hoist Lakes Trails is a 20 mile marked trail system linking several lakes and steep terrain of particular interest to expert backcountry skiers and telemarkers.

Other routes include: Cross-County Cycle Trail and Cedar Creek Trail, Horseshoe Lake Trail, Udell Hills Trail. Also, dont forget that the North Country Trail passes through the forest!

Overall, Huron-Manistee National Forest is the 6th most popular cross country ski area of all 49 Nordic ski destinations in Michigan.
