Giants Ridge Resort Cross Country Skiing

Northeast of Virginia and Biwabik in the Superior National Forest, the Giants Ridge Recreation Area has 55 km of groomed trails, with 3.5 km lite for evening skiing. If youre looking for more backcountry, the Silver and Laurentian Trails are for you.

The Silver Trail (6.2 mi.)is a challenging route located in the Giants Ridge Recreation Area, which is also used for Olympic cross-country ski qualifications. To reach the trailhead from Biwabik, head east on SR135 for 1.5 miles. Proceed north on CR138 for three miles into the GRRA on the left.

The Laurentian Trail (5.2 mi. / 800 ) is a rolling double track located near Silver Trail in the Giants Ridge Recreation Area. The route flows through rich aspen and pine forests. To reach the trailhead from Biwabik, head east on SR135 for 1.5 miles. Proceed north on CR138 for three miles into the GRRA on the left.
