Near Flathead Lake west of Lakeside, the Blacktail Mountain has 40 km of intermittently groomed trails with spectacular views of Flathead Lake.

To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead at the Lower Parking Area from the intersection of Blacktail Rd. (NFD 914) and US 93 in Lakeside, go west on Blacktail Rd. for 6.4 miles to the Lower Parking Area.

ALPINE LOOP- Length: 10.5Km/6.5 Miles Average Time:3-4 hours

Z DESCENT LOOP- Length: 8.5Km/5.25 Miles Average TIme:2-3 hours

BLACKTAIL GLIDE LOOP- Length: 11Km/7 Miles Average Time: 5-6 hours

POWERLINE LOOP- Length: 13Km/8 Miles Average Time:5-6 hours

Overall, Blacktail Mountain is the 12th most popular cross country ski area of all 37 Nordic ski destinations in Montana.
