Near North River in Adirondack State Park, the Garnet Hill Cross Country Ski Center has 55 km of groomed tracks surrounding lakes and streams traversing mountain slopes.
To reach the Garnet Hill Lodge Ski Center from the south, Albany and NYC, take I-87 to exit 23 at Warrensburg, then Rt. 9 to Rt. 28 to North River. Northern travelers can exit I-87 at Pottersville, exit 26. From here follow signs to Gore Mt. and North Creek. Garnet Hill Lodge is located off Rt. 28 in North River left on Thirteenth Lake Road, 5 miles.

Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Garnet Hill Lodge Ski Center including Friends Lake Inn, Lapland Lake Nordic Ski Center, McCauley Mountain Ski Center, Spruce Bog Trail, Gore Mountain Ski Area and Dewey Mountain X-C Ski Center.
