South of Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park, the ungroomed 4 mile Snow Pass Trail ascends an old wagon trail up to Snow Pass (700). The cross country ski trail is located off the west side of the Mammoth-Norris Snow Vehicle Road about 0.5 miles south of the Upper Terrace parking area.

After crossing the pass, ski another 0.5 miles to the junction. Turn left heading south along Glen Creek for 2 miles back to the Mammoth-Norris road near Rustic Falls.

Overall, Snow Pass Trail is the 14th most popular cross country ski area of all 26 Nordic ski destinations in Wyoming. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Snow Pass Trail including Bighorn Loop, Bunsen Peak Trail and Sheepeater Trail.
