Bunsen Peak Trail Cross Country Skiing

The 17th most popular XC Ski in Wyoming.

South of Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park, the ungroomed 6 mile Bunsen Peak Trail offers vistas over the Gardner River Canyon and the Gallatin Mountains. The cross country ski trail is located off the west side of the Mammoth-Norris Snow Vehicle Road just south of the Rustic Falls. After crossing the Bunsen Peak, the route descends steeply (950) along a twisting 2.5 mile route to Glen Creek. Continue another 0.5 miles to an access road which leads for a mile back to the parking area on Mammoth-Norris road.

Overall, Bunsen Peak Trail is the 17th most popular cross country ski area of all 26 Nordic ski destinations in Wyoming.
