West of Golden in the Dogtooth range of the infamous Purcells near Kicking Horse ski area, the Dawn Mountain Nordic Trail is a 25km cross country skiing network groomed for classical skiing. The network consists of four loops from 2.5 to 7km long, groomed by the Golden Outdoor Recreation Association.

To reach trailhead from Golden BC on the TransCanada Highway, follow signage for Kicking Horse Mountain Resort, 12.5 km west of Golden on Kicking Horse Trail. Trailhead sign at the upper parking lot beyond the daylodge

Overall, Dawn Mountain Trail is the 28th most popular cross country ski area of all 56 Nordic ski destinations in British Columbia. Several of the better cross country ski trails are nearby Dawn Mountain Trail including Rogers Pass Ski Touring and Icefall Traverse.
