Near Licola are Victorias best nordic ski trails, although not well known. These include tours near Mt. Arbuckle, Mt. Reynard and Shaw Creek Valley.

To reach the cross-country skiing trailhead from Licola, follow either Jamieson Road - Mt. Skene or Taboritha - Mt. Howitt Road.

The Mt. Arbuckle trails start at Lost Plain and run for 4km past vistas of Mt. Arbuckle.

The Shaws Creek Valley ski tour starts from the gorge carpark off Snowy Range Road (4WD & chains). From the carpark, drop down to Rowleys Bridge and proceed 3km up valley along either side of the creek and return.

A Mt. Reynard tour (10km) is another option from the gorge carpark near Rowleys Bridge. Start across the bridge and head west on the side track to the right. This leads up to the Mt. Reynard plateau. At the summit, descend northeast along a gentle plain and glades to an old forest road. Cross the creek and head northeast to a fence. Track around the fence to the northside and head east back into the valley towards Rowley s Bridge.

Overall, Parks Victoria is the 7th most popular cross country ski area of all 10 Nordic ski destinations in Australia.
